Event Space

The Graeter Art Gallery and Merchant Hotel Bar are nestled in the Victorian-era Historic Merchant Hotel of NW Portland's Old Town/ Chinatown neighborhood. We are conveniently located between the beautiful Steel and Burnside Bridges, two blocks from Central Train station, one block from the Max line and walking distance to the any of the city's best restaurants, bars, entertainment and attractions. Our original and gleaming Skid Row Doug-Fir floors, 12ft high exposed brick walls and floor to ceiling windows invites any stranger in from the rain.

Overlooking 2nd Ave and Old Town to the east, our cozy Redwood bar is a fabulous place to perch, and our couches and brick fireplace always a favorite retreat. With our open floor plan, vaulted ceilings and contemporary art exhibits, our gallery space is ideal for most any event imaginable.

Located in the Historic Merchant Hotel, the Graeter Art Gallery and Merchant Hotel Bar will soon become your new best friend .

Graeter Wine Bar

We are proud to work with local Oregon and California vineyards, and we also serve delicious, rustic wines from the old world.

Our featured wines may include Nebbiolo, Bordeaux and Chianti or Prosecco, Gruner Ventliner and a Brut or two. Our local wines include Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel and more.

We also have a rotating selection of locally crafted beer on tap, beer in the bottle and Coors in the can.

Event Usage

Social functions, corporate functions, wine tastings & culinary advents, product launches, press conferences, VIP/executive hosting and workshops.

Private Event Rentals

Graeter Art Gallery & Merchant Hotel Bar can be rented for day or night use from 11am- 11pm, Tuesday-Saturday. There is an hourly rental fee of $250 with a minimum of 3 hours (totals to $750)

This rate includes:

Event host to assist throughout the event
Bartender
Use of 3 Victorian loveseats, 2 large Victorian couches, 11 modern and Victorian armchairs + 3 accompanying tables, black walnut coffee table, 6 bar stools and redwood bar
Use of 4 eight-foot event tables and black tablecloths
Historic brick fireplace
Set up of any rented tables and chairs
Use of house sound system and iPod connection
Use of wireless Internet
Featuring Victorian-era high ceilings, original doug-fir floors, original brick walls, floor to ceiling east facing windows.
Private viewing of current month’s art exhibition
10% discount on artworks and prints purchased during the event
